The Cats recorded their third win of the season on Saturday, accounting for Deakin University 19.21 (135) to 7.11 (53) at The Pond.
Injured Allansford coach Jason Saunders said the new-look Cats were beginning to build cohesion.
He was rapt with their stoppage work, steadiness in defence and contribution from their younger players, particularly Brad Edge, against a gritty Sharks’ outfit.
Brenton Webster, who booted three goals, and Edge both sustained minor injuries but should be available to play East Warrnambool next weekend.
