Koroit police were called to the home and arrested the woman in the street.
“She was no longer armed with the knife when arrested and an after-hours application for an intervention order was made,” Sergeant Pat Day said.
“She was released on a summons for criminal charges resulting from the incident.”
Meanwhile,a roadside produce stall was the target of theft after an Esky containing money from the sales of eggs and plants was taken overnight on Tuesday, December 29.
Sergeant Day said the Esky, which had a red and white lid, would not have contained much money.
“The stallholder is on the Koroit-Port Fairy Road at Crossley and normally takes the Esky in overnight but forgot on this occasion,” he said.
“The Esky has probably been dumped on the side of the road, so if anyone has any information or has found it, let the Koroit police know.
“This is the second time in as many months money has been stolen from little produce stalls on the side of the road using an honesty system. It’s very disappointing.”
In other Koroit news, quick-thinking motorists averted a potential collision on Sunday afternoon when a large irrigator boom in a paddock swung onto the Princes Highway near Tower Hill.
“It was on the fence line with the highway and something went wrong and one half of it swung round with the wind out over the highway,” Sergeant Day said.
“It was still high enough for cars to drive under it but a truck would have collided with it.
“The highway was very congested at the time and the motorists stopped and secured it with a rope to a the fence, until police arrived.”
