Warrnambool Little Athletics Club is hoping its young runners can produce their best at the relay state championships in Melbourne on December 12.
The Brauerander Park-based club has had 30 of its crop qualify for the Lakeside Stadium competition.
Club president Peter Varley said it was a pleasing result.
“It is excellent. Being able to have relays in Warrnambool because we have such a good track really helps,” Varley said.
“It is very competitive and should be a fantastic experience for them.”
Warrnambool’s competitors range from ages nine to 13.
They have qualified for 4x100 metre, 4x200 and 800m medley relays.
Warrnambool is also eyeing qualifications for the little athletics track and field state championships in March.
But the emerging athletes will have to book their spots via the regional selection process in Ballarat in February.
