Brightbird Espresso is marking five years with a coffee cup art competition that is proving with all ages.
Owner Katrina Brightwell said it was interesting seeing adults sitting in the café, concentrating on their textas.
“It’s a bit of a spin-off from the adult colouring books that are around at the moment, I think – people are really into it,” Ms Brightwell said.
“It’s been really nice. We’ve invited people to sit at their table and do them or take them home.”
Artists Ella Webb and Gareth Colliton will judge the best entries in the kids and adults categories respectively, with the winning children’s entry receiving a free art session at Loop Studios and the winning adult getting 10 free cups of coffee.
Entries opened on Friday and the café has already received nearly 100 redesigned coffee cups. The competition closes on November 27.
Ms Brightwell said the competition could become an annual event.
