The festival, which was at risk of ending a year ago, claimed the gong in the event attracting under 50,000 people category presented at the Victorian Tourism Awards on Monday night.
Mayor Michael Neoh said the win highlighted the quality of the festival.
“It rewards the hard work of the volunteers and the council staff over a number of years, but particularly this year where they had some stringent budget conditions,” Cr Neoh said.

In a successful night for the region, Port Fairy’s Drift House took out the luxury accommodation award.
