The Warrnambool primary education student is researching the positive effects of studying outside and will explore the components needed for an outdoor class in the Geelong Botanic Gardens.
She will also develop a sample program and research program examples for teaching children outdoors.
“I’ll be able to use it when I become a teacher at the end of next year,” she said.
“It’s looking at a health perspective, including mental health.
“A huge part of it is getting children to be more active due to alarming increase of overweight and obesity rates in Australian children.”
