It will be business as usual at Terang’s May Noonan Hostel, despite the residential aged care centre changing hands.
Not-for-profit organisation mecwacare will take over the running of the 40-bed facility from VincentCare Victoria.
VincentCare Victoria chief executive officer John Blewonski said the sale would have little impact on residents and staff.
“It’s really good news for residents at May Noonan Hostel who are guaranteed that they will not have to move and there will be no change to their fees,” he said.
“Our residents will also benefit from being looked after by the same dedicated people, with all staff to be offered their same roles, with equivalent conditions under mecwacare ownership.”
The sale is expected to take effect in February next year.
VincentCare Victoria began an expressions of interest process earlier this year to sell the hostel so the organisation could refocus its efforts on housing and homelessness.
May Noonan Hostel was among six aged care homes VincentCare Victoria put up for sale across regional Victoria and Melbourne after a review of the organisation.
