The Eagles, attempting to win the flag from fourth spot, succumbed to Tatyoon 13.7 (85) to 6.10 (46) in the grand final at Willaura on Saturday.
Hawks forward Tom Crabree kicked three goals while teammate Aiden Marr won the best-afield medal.
Half-back David West, onball pair Marty Rantall and Adam Lenehan and key forward Stuart Habel led the way for the Eagles.
Eagles coach Kurt Buchanan said having to play three cut-throat finals to make the decider had taken its toll on his men.
“Early on their pressure was good, they were ready to play. We were slow starting. Just before half-time we got ourselves back in the game a little bit, we were two goals down at half-time,” he said.
“We came out in the third quarter and got the first one. I thought we were back in the game. But they got the next three and put it to bed pretty quick.”
