The Ciaron Maher-trained Set Square, winner of last year's VRC Oaks, has been handicapped with 51 kilograms for the group 1 race over 2400 metres, while Akavoroun, Kapour, Light Up Manhattan and Tucano have 50kg.
Racing Victoria executive general manager for racing Greg Carpenter has assigned the top weight of 58kg to 2014 Emirates Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist and high-class United Kingdom entrant Snow Sky – winner of the prized Hardwicke Stakes (2400m) at this year’s famed Royal Ascot Carnival for trainer Sir Michael Stoute.
Caulfield Cup favourite Fame Game has been allocated 57kg as he attempts to deliver Japan back-to-back victories in the race.
Dandino, trained at Darren Weir's satellite stable in Warrnambool, has been handicapped with 52.5kg while his stablemates May's Dream and Tall Ship have 50.5kg.
First acceptances for the Caulfield Cup are taken at noon (AEST) on September 8.
