She arrived at Leura Oval on a winning note, having helped Mininera and District league club Wickliffe-Lake Bolac end a 25-year A grade premiership drought.
Now the Lake Bolac P-12 teacher is hoping to help Camperdown create its own history and win its maiden top-grade flag.
Richardson, 29, said it was difficult to leave Wickliffe-Lake Bolac – the club she’d represented since juniors.
“I am sure I’ll end up back there one day because I live closer to there and my family is there but I am enjoying the challenge at Camperdown,” she said.
“I wanted to play something a little bit more challenging before I got too old.
“I love it. Every weekend is really hard.”
Richardson has established herself at goal keeper, forming a solid combination alongside Chelsea Castles in the Magpies’ defensive end.
“I love it – it’s like playing with my sisters,” she said.
Camperdown is one of five sides battling for four finals spots entering the final round.
Richardson, who lives on a Woorndoo farm with her husband Adam, said everything pointed to an intriguing September campaign.
