An additional 172 donations are needed at the centre after the flu season has driven existing donors to cancel in greater numbers than expected. Every donation helps save three lives, including cancer patients, road trauma victims, people with blood disorders, unborn babies, and mothers in childbirth. Blood Service spokesperson Stephanie Reynolds said giving blood felt great and only took an hour.
“After saving lives, they can then enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while munching on Australia’s best biscuit,” she said.
“We believe it’s the best biscuit because it’s the only one that saves lives. Right now we still need 172 biscuit-loving donors to roll up their sleeves and help us overcome this cold and flu problem.”
