A WARRNAMBOOL woman in her 50s was flown by air ambulance to Melbourne in a critical condition after a collision involving a B-double truck in west Warrnambool.

Warrnambool police Sergeant Kelly McNaughton said the accident happened soon after 8.30pm when the car exiting Rooneys Road collided with a truck travelling along Raglan Parade.
"A middle aged woman was flown to Melbourne with serious injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed. The truck driver was not injured,” she said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the woman was unconscious and initially trapped.
“She had serious head injuries and was taken by road to Warrnambool Base Hospital and then flown by air ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
"A man in his 20s, who was also in the car, sustained chest and wrist injures.
“He was taken to the Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition."
A spokeswoman for the Royal Mel.bourne Hospital said the woman remained in a serious condition.
Sergeant McNaughton said traffic lights were in place at the intersection but were not yet operational.
Meanwhile a woman killed in a crash near Camperdown has been identified as Marilyn Rippon.
The Camperdown woman was killed when her car, which was travelling north on Depot Road, collided with a Holden Astra travelling east on the Old Geelong Road at 11.30am on Thursday.
The woman died at the scene.
The male driver, the sole occupant of the Astra, suffered head injuries and was air lifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
Warrnambool police inspector Gary Coombes said at the time of the accident, conditions were clear, the road was dry and visibility was good. “Obviously we will need to investigate the circumstances of the collision and on first impression there appears there may have been a driver at fault in regards to it,” he said.
