PUPILS at St Joseph's Primary School learnt to kick story-writing goals with children’s author David Lawrence on Friday.
The TV comedy writer said most of the children were familiar with his Fox Swift book series, written with help from Hawthorn’s Cyril Rioli.
Lawrence took pupils through the structure of building a story plot, including some of his own handy tips and tricks.
“They’re really interested and engaging and they came up with some great ideas,” Lawrence said.
“We’ve worked through the process of writing a story. They’re very bright students.”
He also visited Emmanuel and Brauer colleges on Friday. For National Bookshop Day he will hold a signing session at Warrnambool Books on Saturday, as part of a fund-raiser in memory of Pippa Rea. – JONO PECH
