The Red Cross recognised Mr Clapham and 15 other south-west blood donors this week for their consistent donations over many years.
The Warrnambool man first rolled up his sleeves to donate blood 40 years ago and he now gives plasma every two weeks.
“I actually really enjoy donating blood - it’s so simple and if you can do it well then you should,” he said.
“Each plasma donation does up to eight treatments, anywhere from cancer to whatever is wrong."
Warrnambool needs 270 more donors in the next month, with just one in 30 people donating blood. To make a booking call 13 14 95 or visit donateblood.com.au.
