The experienced Cally Raiders team notched an 8-5 win against the Your Break-based outfit in the decider at City Memorial Bowls Club on Sunday.
Associates were aiming for their first top grade title but Cally Raiders’ experience proved too big an obstacle.
Associates’ Alistair Gillin was named player of the match despite his side’s defeat.
The Cally dominated Seanchai Pirates 8-0 in the division two grand final, with Allan Rendall named player of the match.
Warrnambool Eight-Ball Association secretary Matt Pearson, who represented Associates, said both deciders were hard fought.
“It’s a very different atmosphere at a grand final,” he said.
“With everyone there watching and supporting, it can put a bit of pressure on the players to perform.”
