Organiser Brian Cockayne said the annual two-day event, hosted by the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Warrnambool, Laang Range, again proved popular.
“We’ve had heaps of people here,” Mr Cockayne said. “It’s been really good. We have had one of the better crowds this year.
“There were 84 tractors, 27 trucks and 55 engines.”
Just under $4000 was raised in entry donations.
All of the money is donated to Warrnambool Base Hospital’s palliative care unit.
“It was a good amount considering the weather,” Mr Cockayne said.
Crowds gathered to watch the tractor pull and Mr Cockayne said the hand-shearing demonstration was another highlight.
“We had a shearer shearing sheep with the old hand shears.
“It was like how people used to shear sheep in the 1800s. People were spellbound.”
“The tractor pull was the most-watched event,” he said.
A clay target shooting demonstration also proved popular.
“We had lots and lots of ladies having a go,” Mr Cockayne said.
“We even signed a few up to the club.”
