He’s taken a tongue-in-cheek view of the inner ructions with a satirical poster promoting a council meeting boxing match.
Headed Not for the Fainting Hearted, he’s listed the main event as Neckbrake Neoo versus Killer Carl Kelson, referring to Cr Kelson’s notice of motion calling for a vote of no confidence in mayor Michael Neoh.
On the undercard will be Robie Muir Ascew versus Sidekick Sycopily, Angry Anson versus Hillbilly Hollin and the referees will be Jumpin’ Jacinta and Kalmin Kyle.
He’s put a footnote “due to unresolved arguments tonight’s council meeting is ganna (sic) be fight night, starts 8pm”.
McCosh added “stick truck”, “stone truck” and “riot squad” vans to his illustration and signed it “not quiet (sic) right”.
He plans to display it in the Country Life café in Fairy Street and is considering braving the “spectators” on March 2 by showing it from the footpath outside the civic centre.
It’s not the first time McCosh has been inspired by controversies.
He’s produced satirical works on foreign ownership with a joking depiction of a Chinese takeover of Murray Goulburn dairy factory at Koroit and the former Glenormiston college being turned into a prison.
“I like to see the funny side of things,” he said.
