Yvonne Russell, 31, previously of Younger Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to possessing crystal methamphetamine and cannabis.
She was not convicted and fined $650.
Police said that on August 5 they went to emergency housing in Younger Street to arrest Russell for other matters. A search found $1500, evidence of drug trafficking on a man’s phone, 11 grams of cannabis and a small amount of ice in rolled-up socks.
In an interview with police Russell said the house was in her name and the drugs were therefore her responsibility.
She told court she had been homeless with her three children for 15 weeks and had no issues with drugs.
Magistrate John Lesser said it was the first time Russell had been to court charged with drug offences.
