Don Swanson and Dr Andrew Creed were both part of the team that penned Communication for Business which won the award for best tertiary teaching and learning resource at the Australian Publishing Association educational awards earlier this month.
Swanson and Creed both wrote specific chapters and other material for the textbook which was published by Oxford University Press. The lead author was former ABC journalist and New Scientist correspondent Liz Tynan.
Swanson, an education consultant, said he was very happy with the opportunity to contribute to the book. “I’m so happy Oxford University Press has given me this opportunity to share my insights into the subtleties, nuances, and joys of teaching,” he said.
“I am also gratified that this APA award further substantiates the approaches I promote through my consultancy.”
Creed said it was a pleasure of writing for Oxford University under its Australian publishing arm.
“It is most rewarding to live the beautiful Warrnambool life and write on the global stage with Oxford University,” he said.
“To then receive a national accolade like this simply adds to the serendipity. We do some of the best work in the world here in regional Victoria and are pleased to share insights along the way.”
