On Saturday, Portland police made two separate arrests for possession of drugs of dependence.
A 14-year-old Portland male was charged and bailed to appear in Portland Children’s Court, while police gave a 38-year-old Melbourne man a cannabis caution.
On Sunday, Hamilton police arrested a 19-year-old man with more than a dozen small cannabis plants. The Hamilton teenager was charged with cultivating and possessing cannabis. He will be summonsed to appear in Hamilton Magistrate’s Court.
Sergeant Gavin Slade said Portland police were disappointed with a small group’s anti-social behaviour on grand final day.
“We attended four brawls in the afternoon — obviously alcohol was involved,” he said.
“We are issuing a few infringement notices for offensive behaviour out of those incidents, which were in public areas.”
