In its sixth year, the fund-raiser has a loyal following from participating women’s fashion boutiques and the Warrnambool public who continue to support it.
The latest spring and summer fashion will be showcased tomorrow night by Warrnambool businesses including Armadio, Blossom Boutique, Dubois Boutique, Oranges and Lemons, Style 105 and Susan Younis Millinery.
Tir na nÓg Skin & Body Therapy owners Susan and Judi O’Brien began the event six years ago in memory of their dad, Michael. Each year the proceeds go towards purchasing oncology and palliative care medical equipment needs for the hospital.
Money raised from this year’s event will go towards South West Healthcare’s $27,000 oncology unit infusion pumps appeal.
The O’Brien sisters encouraged women of all ages to get their friends together for a great night out.
South West Healthcare Community Partnerships manager Suzan Morey said the pair did an amazing job organising the event and the participating boutiques and sponsors also provided terrific support.
Blossom Boutique owner Donna Gladman said her family had been touched by cancer.
“I think everyone has. It’s a really good cause and it’s a good chance to showcase the local product that businesses have. It’s good to be a part of something that gives back and showcases the businesses as well.”
Tickets are $35 and are available from Tir na nÓg and participating stores. Pre-purchased tickets are recommended and include a glass of sparkling wine and gourmet nibbles. There is also raffles and lucky door prizes on the night.
The Gala Spring Fashion Preview will be held from 7.30pm at The Carmichael Room, City Memorial Bowls Club, Cramer Street.
