For those who are waiting patiently for the first release, there is good news. Patrons getting in early will be rewarded with discounted tickets to the 2015 event.
The festival committee is planning five ticket release periods with a price scale that increases with each release.
Last year the ticket releases were named after local birds. This year’s theme will be fish.
The first release will be called the Sweep Fish with the price $200 for adults and $75 for a youth ticket.
This offer will be open for three days and will close at 11pm on Wednesday, September 24.
Those wanting to make the most of the discount price will need to get in quick with the same release period last year selling out in a day.
Ticketing manager Ian Wood said the first announcement of festival acts would be made in the lead-up to the first release.
“We are expecting interest in this first release to be really strong again,” Mr Wood said.
“Through a few factors this year we weren’t quite ready to open the first release as early as we did last year and we didn’t want to just rush in.
Mr Wood said there would be a one-week break between the end of the first and the start of the second release, called the Snapper, with the price for these tickets $220 for adults and $80 for youths.
The third release, the Whiting, will be in early January with tickets costing $240 for adults and $90 for youths.
A fourth release, the Barracuda, will cost $265 for adults and $100 for youth. The fifth release, the Flathead, will cost $290 for adults and $125 for youths.
It is expected tickets will be sold out before the Flathead release, as was the case last year.
While the festival still has a traditional mail-out system for past ticketholders, 95 per cent of tickets are expected to be purchased online.
