As the search for Mr Burn, 50, entered its fifth day, police confirmed he had been sighted on CCTV footage at a Hamilton service station.
The vision was captured on Sunday night, shortly after he left his brother's Tarrington home. His family have viewed the footage and confirmed it is him.
Acting Sergeant Rod Charman, of Hamilton Police, said the CCTV footage showed Mr Burn's clothing had changed between leaving his brother's home, where he had spent the weekend, and his arrival at the service station on Cox Road.
"When he left his brother's, he was wearing a hi-vis jacket, blue work pants and boots," Acting Sergeant Charman said.
"In the CCTV footage he was wearing a grey unzipped top with black sleeves, a grey and white stripped shirt, black pants and black shoes.
"When he left the service station he appeared to head in the general direction of Warrnambool, but there are a few turn-offs he may have taken."
Police believe he drove to his mother's vacant property in Hamilton, had a shower and got changed before driving to the United service station.
Acting Sergeant Charman said the police air wing was in the area again on Friday searching rural areas where Mr Burn may have been driving.
"They've been over the Hawkesdale and Mount Napier area, but there has again been no sign of him," he said.
"They also checked out down around the coast near Port Campbell, following up on some unconfirmed information."
Acting Sergeant Charman urged local farmers to be vigilant and report anything that may be out of the ordinary.
"Things like broken fences, skid marks anything like that," he said.
"His bank accounts still haven't been touched and he doesn't own a mobile phone - it's like he's just vanished.
"If anyone sees him they are asked to call either Hamilton or Warrnambool police or Crimestoppers."
Mr Burn was driving a Silver 2007 Holden Rodeo dual cab ute with registration WLV-165.
