Guinea pigs go missing from Portland kinder after vandalism attack

TWENTY-SEVEN kindergarten kids were left distraught on Wednesday morning after vandals damaged a guinea pig pen at Portland’s Kalbarri Kindergarten, resulting in the escape of two of the cuddly animals.

The two pets — named Kal and Barri — have been at the kinder for four years and are part of the sensory learning section, as well as teaching the children about responsibility.

The guinea pigs are both male — one is black and white and the other black, white and tan.

The matter has been reported to police. The pets were last seen at 3am Tuesday. Anyone with any information about the crime should contact the kindergarten on 5523 4973 or local police on 5523 1999.
