The annual round of awards are organised to promote merit and achievement in the commercial sector, with both shires running separate ceremonies.
Warrnambool City will present 15 awards this year, with categories including professional, retail business, professional service, health and well-being, micro business and manufacturing.
The city council’s economic development officer Annabel Cussen said the awards were an opportunity for business people to come together and recognise the good work performed in the region.
“For businesses, the judging process allows them to take stock of their operations,” she said.
“It’s like a health check for their business and nominees from previous years have found this very useful.”
Nominations close on August 11 with the awards ceremony to be held at the Lighthouse Theatre on October 31.
Meanwhile, Southern Grampians Shire is calling for nominees for its business awards with a cross-section of entrants expected by organisers.
Southern Grampians development manager Hugh Koch said the event was a self-assessment tool as much as a social function.
Nominations close on August 22 with the winners revealed on October 3 at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre.
