SWCDG coach and owner Kirralee Badham said two teams travelled to Melbourne to compete.
The Captains placed second in the pom routine in the dance section at the Winterfest Cheer and Dance Championship.
Popular in the United States, cheerleading is gaining a large following in Australia.
Ms Badham said both teams performed well at their first competition.
“It was a bonus to come away with second,” she said. “The girls did really well with their cheers.”
Ms Badham said the teams would now look towards their next competition.
“Now the girls have a taste for it and know what they are working towards. It was lots of fun and a good experience for them.”
The next cheer competition is coming up in September.
