The driver, a woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, was taken to Hamilton Hospital with head injuries.
Hamilton police man Sergeant Sean Elliott said it was unclear why the woman lost control of her red ute on the Hamilton Highway about 9am.
“She was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening,” Sergeant Elliott said.
The tree blocked the car’s path to the house, where the couple was at the time.
“Luckily it has missed the house. It was very fortunate,” he said.
