The union is seeking bans on air traffic staff completing some paperwork after flights — but will make no attempt to hamper the state’s fleet.
“We would never ground them,” Ambulance Employees Association secretary Steve McGhie said.
“The only way we would ground them is if they were unsafe and we’re not suggesting that at all.”
Both the union and the government will head to the Fair Work Commission today as the union tries to bring in two more bans affecting air traffic staff completing minor paperwork.
On Monday the government warned “the lives of country Victorians are being placed at threat by this rogue action by the ambulance union.”
