Miss Habel wore a stunning dress and cape made by her nanna, Judy Brockway-Garner.
The fabric of her dress had a racing print and was sourced from the United Kingdom. Accessories included a red clutch, shoes and umbrella.
Miss Habel said her nanna makes a trial outfit before completing the real ensemble to ensure a perfect fit.
“I’m really proud to do it for nanna,” she said. “She gets a really big buzz out of it.”
Miss Habel’s hat was made by milliner Sharon Wilson who used the fabric from her dress to tie the outfit together.
Warrnambool’s Laura Kelly was the winner of the Port Fairy Fashions Contemporary Lady award.
Miss Kelly wore a capped sleeve blue and black dress with patterned panels that she found online.
The dress came from New York and her matching fascinator was made and designed by Julie Gurry.
“It’s fantastic today,” she said. “There was tough competition. Lots of people came out to support the fashions, which is great.”
Farmer Bronwyn Lenehan made it out of the dairy to win the Kevin Paisley Fashion Eyewear Most Spectacular Hat.
The Nullawarre woman made her soaring blue and black silk abaca and vintage net hat to complement her outfit.
Mrs Lenehan said she was excited to have won after plucking up the courage to enter the competition for the first time.
“For the last five years I have made hats for my family and friends,” she said.
The Clancey’s Menswear Dapper Chap was awarded to Hal Salter, of South Yarra, who wore a black velvet jacket with a bowler hat and waistcoat.
Mr Salter has been competing in fashions on the field competitions for the past 30 years and has won 27 times. He always donates his prizes to charity and the prizes from his win yesterday will go to the Australian Ballet and the Kids Tennis Foundation.
