Ros Alexander previously worked at PDH for 12 years but after some time away from the hospital has returned to share her passion and enthusiasm for her former workplace.
For the previous six years, Ms Alexander was chief executive of the Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service (DWECH) based in Portland.
Prior to taking on the PDH director of nursing position, Ms Alexander held similar roles at St Luke’s Private Hospital in Launceston and Darwin Private Hospital.
“I am very passionate about nursing and about PDH,” she said.
Acquiring funding was one of the bigger issues to be faced, Ms Alexander said.
“We don’t know the budget implications at this stage but there is a fear that health will be affected. We will have to learn to do things smarter to make sure we get the best value for our money.”
Ms Alexander will start her new role on June 10 and takes over from Frank Megens, who has moved to Omeo.
