The recently formed group is staging the inaugural event, which is open to all, to boost its own profile and bring more of the May race carnival excitement into the city centre.
Profits from the $80-a-head event, to be held on Wednesday, April 30, will go to Peter’s Project.
Group committee member Ed Mahony said the event would hopefully draw a crowd into the CBD that might otherwise not involve themselves in the races.
He said the art gallery would undergo “a full facelift” and be converted into a vibrant entertainment space for the night that would begin at 8pm.
Upon entry, guests will be greeted by a team of hosts roaming with unlimited drinks and a generous serving of canapés.
Live entertainment will include Will Ryan, and Hollas and Wills.
Mr Mahony said the evening promised to be a memorable party that would become a popular annual event.
Fellow committee member Angie Paspaliaris said the evening was for the general public, not only young professionals.
Tickets to the event are pre-sold from the art gallery and numbers are limited.
The event follows on from more low-key social events the group organised earlier this year.
Fellow committee member Jayson Ward said the group aimed to encourage young professionals to stay and invest in Warrnambool.
“You can have nice buildings and all the facilities, but it is the people that make the town,” Mr Ward said.
Warrnambool had many opportunities for people to pursue sporting interests but the young professionals group gave people a chance “to belong just by being social,” he said.
