Melbourne hat and headwear artist Sandy Forrester will put her latest creations on show at Koroit’s former St Patrick’s Convent tomorrow at a special fund-raising event.
Ms Forrester will bring a selection of hats from her winter collection, including some that have been hand-painted by Byron Bay artist Ruth Harris.
Inner Wheel Club member Marg Hutson said Ms Forrester’s hats have a point of difference, because when they aren’t being worn they can be hung on the wall as a piece of art.
“Sandy’s hats are very interesting and are a bit different to what you might normally find,” she said.
Before a small parade of her hats, Sandy will host a short presentation on how to wear a hat correctly, talking about selecting the right shape hat for the right shape face.
Tickets are $20 and are available by contacting Ms Hutson on 0429 203 630. Proceeds will go to the Inner Wheel’s Cord Blood research.
“We will also receive 10 per cent of any sales of hats on the day,” Ms Hutson said.
