Dealer principal Garry Askew presented Peter’s Project director Vicki Jellie with a cheque on Monday.
Mr Askew said that at last year’s Hampden Football Netball League grand final, Warrnambool Toyota and 3YB hosted the Kick in the Back of the Ute competition with participants given the chance to win $5000 if they could kick a football into a ute.
When the football didn’t land in the ute Mr Askew said it was then decided the money would go to Peter’s Project.
The dealership also raised more than $1500 within the company.
Warrnambool Toyota employees Sarah Jacobs and Paula Lang co-ordinated the fund-raising efforts.
“We raised money with morning teas and barbecues, which raised about $1500,” Mr Askew said.
Warrnambool Toyota then added in the rest to make up $10,000.
Mr Askew said the company believes Peter’s Project is a worthy cause for the south-west.
“Cancer has touched everyone in some way or another,” he said.
“We believe in giving in any way to the community in any way we can.”
