The region’s cities and shires are promoting the benefits of a country lifestyle at the Regional Victoria Living Expo starting at Melbourne’s convention centre today.
Nearly 10,000 people attended last year’s three-day expo seeking information about opportunities to live and do business in the country.
“It led to genuine inquiries from families looking to relocate to country Victoria,” said Rural Councils Victoria chairman Cr Rob Gersch.
“The main focus for Rural Councils Victoria is to contribute to sustainable and liveable rural communities. Attracting people to live, work and raise their families in rural towns is a key part of this and our members are finding there’s plenty of interest,” Cr Gersch said.
