Participants can collect a map from the laneway next to Pickled Pig restaurant on Liebig Street and follow a trail created by artists Tim Umney and Karen Richards.
The treasure hunt will lead people through many of the central business district’s laneways to find a number of temporary art installations featuring balloons, boxes, phones, dolls and even ghosts.
There will also be live music from south-west band Foxhow. Participation is free, with no registration required.
The event, which will run from 11am until 1pm, is the latest in a series of Laneway Festivals organised by south-west arts collective F Project in conjunction with Warrnambool City Council.
F Project vice-president Megan Nicolson said there would be more fun activities in the laneways between now and the end of May.
“We’ve been thrilled with the public response to our activities in January and February and we’re hoping the community will continue to support the event as the schedule picks up pace over the next two months,” Nicolson said.
“Earlier this year we put a call out to F Project members for suggestions on interesting laneway events and we were blown away by the creativity and diversity of the ideas put to us.”
