The fixture for the new season which starts on March 15 was released yesterday and on paper looks to be fairly favourable for the young side.
The Seahawks will only be forced to play two double-headers for the season. The first is in round seven, when they play Sunbury at home and Chelsea away. The second comes in the final round of the season, when the Seahawks travel to face Melbourne University and Blackburn.
The first game at the Arc will be on March 29, when the Seahawks take on Altona.
A number of home games are scheduled to be held over two weeks, something coach Bobby Cunningham said would be beneficial for the club.
“Having home games in close succession helps the small country clubs get some money in the tills,” he said.
“We have good crowd support, probably the best in the competition, so having home games scheduled close together is good for us and good for the spectators.”
Cunningham said just two double-headers would also be beneficial.
“We just hope we can be on the right side of the scoreboard for all our games. Other than that, there is nothing else we can do.
“Travelling is all part of being part of the Big V competition. As long as we have nine home games and nine away games, we’re happy.”
Cunningham said preparations for the season were going well.
“I’m confident for the season. I think the boys are ready,” he said.
