The incident is alleged to have occurred in an alley off Murray Street with the victim receiving a coward’s punch.
Images of blood streaming from the delivery man’s face were put on the pizza outlet’s Facebook page over the weekend, but the matter was not reported to police until late Sunday.
Colac police Sergeant Bec Constable said an investigation was under way.
“Any witnesses are requested to contact the Colac police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” she said.
Portland police are also calling for witnesses after vehicles caused damage to the Narrawong oval on the weekend.
Police say posts were taken down, allowing access to the turf.
The posts were burnt in a public barbecue. Anyone with information is requested to contact Portland police station.
