Warrnambool Magistrates Court this week heard police believed Aaron Ellis, 25, of Hurd Street, was a frequent user of the drug ice.
Mr Ellis was arrested on January 9 on charges of criminal damage and family violence matters.
The court heard that Mr Ellis was extremely drunk during the crime.
Police alleged Mr Ellis threatened his partner, who locked herself in her vehicle.
Mr Ellis then threw a piece of wood at the vehicle and verbally abused the woman’s children.
The court heard Mr Ellis went into her house and damaged items inside.
Mr Ellis was later arrested and taken to hospital after he injured his hand.
Mr Ellis was on bail for offending which allegedly occurred in September.
He is facing a number of charges, including possess a prohibited weapon and possess amphetamine.
Defence counsel Jonathan Makary said if Mr Ellis was released he would commit to an order to not commit family violence on his partner and another order which meant no access to the children.
Magistrate Peter Mellas took into account that the children were interstate, he had consented to family violence orders and that the victim effectively supported the bail application.
Mr Ellis was bailed to appear in Portland Magistrates Court on January 21.
