Bowles was selected in Victoria’s 12-strong women’s squad for its five-Test series against South Australia, which starts on Sunday.
The Western District Bowls Division women’s singles champion retained her place and will play as a second.
Bowles played in a win against Western Australia in September and last month’s loss to Tasmania.
Victoria is also scheduled to meet New South Wales in March.
Bowles said the standalone Test competitions helped determine state squads for the national sides championships in late March.
“They pick teams Test by Test, so it goes on form,” Bowles said.
“Against Western Australia I was pretty solid and in the last one against Tasmania I was pretty scratchy.
“We played in hail and a lot of water, so they were not the best conditions for me.
“Warrnambool people play on fast greens and we played on slow ones.”
Bowles hopes her Test series form warrants another Victorian berth for the nationals sides championships.
She has played the past two years.
“That, in our sport, is what we work towards,” Bowles said.
“We have won two silver medals the last two years and only just missed out on gold.
“Previous to that we’d been fourth or fifth.”
Bowles is one of the oldest players in Victoria’s Test squad.
“Our three skippers are all 25 or younger,” she said.
“The average age is 30 of the 12 of us. It is a really good combination of experience and very, very good young players.”
Victoria plays five Tests against South Australia in three days.
Bowles said it was imperative Victoria bounced back from its recent loss.
“It was the first Test series we have lost in two years,” she said.
“We are a little disappointed and will regroup and start again.
“We’ve also had quite a few retirements from our senior team, so there are more opportunities to play.”
Bowles said South Australia would use its home-green advantage.
“We always have really good tussles against South Australia,” she said.
“They have also done a lot of rebuilding with their state team.
“Some players we are not familiar with yet. In Adelaide on a fast green, it should suit them well.
“We are looking for five really good Tests and we think we have the right combination to get us through.”
Bowles will play for the West Coast Region women’s title in Heywood on January 26.
