He was taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital but later airlifted to Melbourne's The Alfred Hospital early Monday morning.
His pillion passenger, a 22-year-old Bookaar man, was treated at Warrnambool Base Hospital and later went home.
Police investigators believe that the rider lost control of the Honda 900 bike on a sweeping left-hand bend north-west of Cobden.
The Boorcan man's death was not counted as part of the holiday road toll, which started less than four hours following the crash.
