Fifth-placed City Memorial Gold tackles third-placed Port Fairy Red in the final Western District Bowls Division Saturday pennant round before the Christmas break.
Burleigh said City Gold was on a “must-win mission”.
“We need to win the game on more rinks if we can,” he said.
“We hope to get in the four again but we can’t afford to lose again and if we do it’s about curtains for our Gold team.”
Burleigh said City Gold players needed to lift on their recent form.
City Memorial Gold suffered a shock eight-shot loss to Warrnambool White last weekend.
“You can’t blame anyone else,” Burleigh said.
“We have to regroup and get going.”
In other round 12 games, Dennington Red faces top- four side Warrnambool Blue, Timboon Gold hosts in-form City Memorial Red, lowly-ranked pair Terang Green and Koroit Blue chase much-needed points in their clash and ladder leader Warrnambool Gold should be too strong for clubmate Warrnambool White.
