The rainfall recorded at Warrnambool airport last month was only 69.2 millimetres, well below the September average of 108.8mm.
Closer to the Warrnambool city centre, the rainfall was only slightly higher, with 76.5mm recorded at Agrimac Warrnambool farm machinery dealer in Caramut Road.
Warrnambool’s lower than average September falls contrast with a wet August when 174mm fell, well above the average Warrnambool August rainfall of 106.9mm.
September rainfall in other south-west regional centres was close to their monthly averages, apart from Hamilton which recorded 45mm, well below its September average of 72.5mm.
Port Fairy recorded 80.4mm, above its September average of 70.3mm, and Portland airport recorded 80mm, compared with its September average of 86mm.
Camperdown had 104.9mm, well above its September average of 82mm.
