Another southern right whale was photographed in Portland this morning and three humpbacks were seen breeching in Apollo Bay last week.
Cape Otway Lightstation has organised The Wonder of Whales event to promote the mammals' seasonal return and the tourist attraction's new whale-watching platform.
The free day of talks, films, and family activities will be at the Mechanics Hall in Apollo Bay from midday.
Lightstation manager Paul Thompson said the event would be an amazing experience for anyone interested in whales.
"We want to raise awareness of whale conservation and celebrate the whales' arrival as they migrate north.
"We had three humpbacks off the Lightstation last week breeching and doing backflips - we're really fortunate we see them all the time at the Lightstation between May and October."
The Wonder of Whales will begin at midday, with films screened at 3pm and again at 7pm.
