Aberline Road, which is still a dusty gravel thoroughfare, will be closed for two months from mid-January while a new culvert crossing is constructed over Russells Creek.
Developer Graeme Rodger’s company will contribute a major chunk of the project to facilitate a start to a major new subdivision on the Whites Road corner. He told The Standard Aberline Road would become a properly constructed sealed route through the expanding precinct.
City council infrastructure director Peter Robertson said the council was working with the developers for the first stage to be constructed to just north of the Russells Creek crossing.
“The remaining stages to Wangoom Road will be constructed when the developers are ready to open up this section of the land,” he said.
