A grass fire broke out on Coghlans Road, just north of the city's saleyards about 11.30am.
Three fire crews rushed to the scene and quickly brought it under control.

Four fire units tackled the blaze in several big round hay bales that had been stored along a fence line.
Police are investigating both incidents.
