Just two players from the squad which finished runner-up last year don the whites for the January tournament.
Coach Matt Boyle will oversee a largely bottom-age group seeking to go one better than its heartbreaking defeat 12 months ago.
But he conceded the memory of that match was unlikely to motivate the new-look group.
“We didn’t lose all week. We beat Warrnambool earlier in the week and halfway through the last innings we looked like we would romp it home,” he said. “And they pulled this comeback out of nowhere.
“But they were all top-age last year and on my list this year I have two kids that are top-age.
The 17s division one team was one of four SWC squads released yesterday.
The association will also contest division two in Warrnambool and under 15 Horsham Country Week from January 7 to 11. It will also compete at Portland Country Week, from January 21 to 23.
The squads are:
Under 17 (div one): Jake Reed, Jackson Rock, Hamish Bruckner, Brandon Bant, Tosh Merrett, Luke Pekin, Paul Pekin, Billy Buckingham, Oscar Currell, Matt Baxter, Joel Moriaty, Jack Osborne, Adam Doak.
Under 17 (div two): Lachie Jubb, Joe Cain, Tom Cheslett, Zac Anderson, Connor Jackson, Nathan Stevens, Liam Balcombe, Sam McKenzie, Nathan Moran, Jarrod Evans, Ricky Flynn, Nick Kemp, Jackson Parker.
Under 15: Henry Green, Tyler Fowler, Jono Benallack, Jack Hutt, Josh Hickey, Callum McIlveen, Jordan Riches, Hamish Huffadine, Tyson Hay, Kris Ackerley, Jake Fowler, Thomas Gray, Jake Atkins.
Under 13: Luke Osborne, Nick Jones, Lachie Higginson, Isaac Wareham, Tristan Gray, Lachie Hawkins, Archie Rial, Demby McKenzie, Brett Robbins, Toby Harris, Cooper Neal, Matthew Kemp, Brandon Poole.
