A GCA tribunal will decide whether to strip the Bulldogs of the title at a hearing at 8pm.
The hearing comes after officials launched an investigation into the eligibility of two Panmure cricketers who played in the final against Killarney at Purnim on Sunday.
Simon Bourke snared 2-16 and Simon Schrama took a catch as the Bulldogs limited the Crabs to 6-154. Neither batted as the team chased down the runs.
MyCricket website records show Bourke had only played once this season before lining up in the final, while Schrama had not played.
But Panmure officials were this week hunting down team sheets which would prove at least one of the players had played the required three matches to qualify for the final.
The hearing has extra importance because the GCA one-day final winner progresses to the Sungold Cup, a regional Twenty20 tournament which has $26,000 prizemoney.
Clubs take home a minimum $500 even if they lose their first match of the eight-team knockout tournament over the Australia Day long weekend.
Semi-finalists earn $2000, the runner-up walks away with $5000 and the winner pockets $15,000.
