TWO elderly women escaped injury yesterday afternoon when their car and a livestock truck collided in Camperdown.

The car struck the B-double transport, which was fully laden with sheep, just before 5pm on the corner of Manifold Street and Walls Street.
Senior Constable Marty Howells said the car failed to give way to the truck.
“They were very lucky to not be seriously hurt,” he said.
The truck driver and livestock were not injured. The car received extensive damage, while the two women, both from Camperdown, were unharmed.
