Police charged Shaun Chapman, 31, of Lava Street, with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, making a threat to kill, assault with a weapon and unlawful assault after an alleged incident on November 8.
He was later released on bail.
But on Saturday Mr Chapman was again arrested and charged with breaching an intervention order and unlawful assault.
The incidents on November 8 and Saturday are understood to involve the same woman.
He appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court but a bail application via a video link was not heard by Geelong magistrate Ron Saines, who adjourned the application until 9.30am today.
Mr Chapman had intended to represent himself in court yesterday. Police have already opposed him being released on bail.
