Good weather helped bring plenty of people through the gates at Victoria Park and president Colin Baulch said while the numbers were down, it was hard to make a direct comparison because of an altered program.
“We didn’t have the trucks this year, so that wiped 40 people off the book straight away,” Mr Baulch said.
“So they weren’t really down, they were comparable with other years.”
Show vice-president John Watson said his highlights were the showjumping and floral displays.
“Both attracted strong entries,” he said.
“The flowers were looking great because of the weather we have been having and a lot of work was put into the displays.
“Showjumping entries were down slightly on last year’s record numbers, but there was still a good number of high-quality entries.”
The Victorian Home Brew Championships, ferret races, a miniature goat competition, spud picking competition and Beaut Ute show were among other popular attractions.
Mr Watson said a new location for sideshow alley on the old firefighting strip was well received.
“It allowed them to spread out a bit more,” he said.
“Sideshow alley is always popular with the kids and yesterday was no exception.
“It was great to see so many families out enjoying the day yesterday.
“We always try to make it a good family day out.”
